Long bank holiday and a bit of a hang oer. What a hectic morning at Heathrow!A glitch in the system has created chaos in the flight plans!.
This underscores the need for Upgrading software and proper backup and disastor recovery procedures in any network or enterprise.
Cna you handle a total breakdown in network communictions? Is your staff trained to do manual handling of opertions in case of a total breakdown. How would you cope?
Does your system need Upgrading? If so waiting isnt the solution and may prove to be more costly as the National air traffic Service at Heathrow has found out.
The problem has been handled well and goes to show that many recovery procedures were in place and effected.
Now picture a situation caused by externally induced circumstances like DDOS attacks or sabotage? Are there checks in place to mitigate this >?
Those are key questions Network professionals should be asking 2 day!
